The leaves exhibit fenestrations (deeply cuts) which increase in bright light. The Monstera can grow large with aerial roots that can be trained up a trellis or totem. To maintain a smaller shape it may also be propagated by cutting below the aerial root, or a leaf trimmed and placed in a vase.

The ever-popular monstera is a hardy indoor or outdoor plant. It can tolerate low to bright light but will have larger leaves and grow faster in a bright position. It can tolerate part sun to full shade position. 

Water and feed more frequently during the warmer months and allow the Monstera to dry out between watering.
