Peperomia

by Suzi Tehan

A hardy indoor plant that grows well indoors in any area that is well-lit.  They are fairly fast growers that can easily be cut back to the size that you’re happy with.

In warmer months, varieties such as the Schumi Red produce flower spikes.  Just pinch to remove these when their glory has faded.

Peperomia can cope with outdoors yet prefer warmer climates and a shady spot. They are more than happy to live out their days in a pot.

Allow the soils surface to dry out between watering. Keeping it on the dry side is better than saturating it, as this can lead to root rot and fungus gnat problems.

A forgiving plant that can tolerate neglect.
